1 1 42.30%
1 2 11.92%
1 3 8.44%
1 4 6.03%
1 5 4.86%
1 6 3.99%
1 7 3.37%
1 8 2.98%
1 9 2.83%
1 10 2.97%

But how do we define a good search term? The first step is to look at your business and what you do as a business. In most cases the client knows the answer to this question. However, we need to confirm their initial thoughts. To do this we would run some keyword analysis software to interrogate the search engines to establish the monthly search volume. The benefit of doing this is to identify search terms that are going to give our clients a return on investment (ROI). To explain it another way, the more people who are searching month to month the more potential business you will be able to receive. The next stage is to then work out a strategy to achieve page one for the search terms.

The search engines are constantly developing their algorithms to give the most accurate results possible. Their primary goal is to display results that are correct and accurate for the search term or phrase that has been entered. With SEO it is our job to help the search engines make an informed decision about a client site and rank it above the competition. There are a number of ways to achieve this and every SEO company has their own strategy and own approach. The question is, who has the best SEO strategy and approach? To answer this we have a number of demonstrable case studies that show our customers outranking their competition. Therefore, we would take what we know to work and implement it with any new campaign.

When measuring the results of any campaign we primarily focus on Google. The reasoning behind this - they have the largest search engine total market share as demonstrated below:

Search Engine Total Market Share
Google - Global 83.43%
Yahoo - Global 5.82%
Baidu 5.35%
Bing 3.66%
Ask - Global 0.54%
AOL - Global 0.35%
Excite - Global 0.03%
Lycos - Global 0.00%
